How is Nose Aesthetics Performed?

Rhinoplasty operations are basically performed in two ways, ‘open technique and closed technique’.

Open Technique : It is preferred in cases such as serious nasal tip problems and advanced bone curvature. The most important advantage of the open technique is that it can be performed directly in the field of view. It is easier for the surgeon who performs such surgeries in terms of practice and learning. In this technique, all bone and cartilage structures in the nose and the tissues in that area are completely visible. In the surgery, the skin of the tip of the nose is lifted and the cartilages are completely opened.

In Open Technique, all kinds of deformities, curvatures in the nose, missing and collapsed areas in the cartilage can be repaired. The open technique is usually a scarless operation, depending on the dexterity of the doctor.

Closed Technique:  This technique is a scarless nose surgery technique. In general, it is preferred for problems such as reducing the nose, removing the bumps on the nasal dorsum, and correcting the crookedness of the nose. Nose incisions are made inside the nose and can be seen up to the root of the nose. The operation, which is mostly performed using general anesthesia, takes 2-3 hours on average. Although the risk of swelling is less compared to the open technique, the wounds that will occur in the nose are also minimized. At the same time, the healing process is shorter and more comfortable.
